Deal Castle
The seafront is always a pleasant place to take a stroll. You can walk past the pier, Time Ball Tower and fishing boats, and visit historical Deal Castle, which was designed by Henry VIII. Or you can delve into the tiny narrow streets just off the front to discover the old fishermen's cottages and the town centre with plenty of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants.

Deal and surrounding area Deal is ideally situated to use as a base from which to explore the surrounding area. Close by is Walmer Castle, which is the home of the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. Past Lord Wardens include the Duke of Wellington (who died at Walmer Castle) and Winston Churchill.

We are close to major golf courses - The Royal Cinque Ports in Deal, Royal St George's and Prince's in Sandwich and St Augustine's near Ramsgate.

The picturesque town of Sandwich is just six miles away as is the busy port of Dover, with yet another fabulous castle on top of the famous White Cliffs. Bring your passport and pop across the channel for the day—either by ferry, Sea Cat or of course the Channel Tunnel, which is just a few miles past Dover at Folkestone.
